Well. Recently, I entered club and saw a big machine on the table. It was an apple G5. After the inital wow and hoo, I opened the casing to take a look what is inside.
When I took out the cover, I realize the cover was really solid and quite heavy duty.And the cover has some rubber strip like those you find in air-tight container. I will explain what I believe this is for in the later part of this post.

Taking a looking inside, this is what it is.If you look clearly, there is an acrylic cover with an curve depression in the center of the acrylic. So why there is a curve? If you notice carefully, there is 2 fan in the front. The curve acrylic cover is to ensure that all wind from the fan go to the heat and not escape by the small hole (if without the curve part, there will be hole).
There is also 1 big heat sink as this machine contain 2 power pc processor.

I know the following picture is pretty blur, but the picture actually show the 8 ram slot in this machine. I repeat 8 ram slot.

My final words: I am very impressed with Apple. This machine is launched at 2003 yet till today, it is still impressive. Apple G5 has a marvelous hardware designed. It is engineered after many thought and in-dept thinking. It look at the every single small details and try to make it perfect. That explain why this casing design still existing in today's Mac Pro.
PS: Photo may be blur as it was taken with my handphone camera as I did not bring my digital camera.
I am sure anyone who uses Firefox extension would use dowthemall. For those for don't know, downthemall is an download manager available as an plug-in in Firefox. It allow pause and resume download and accelerate your download speed up to 400%. It has another feature, like the name say, DOWN THEM ALL. However, when you try to down them all, you would realize, you still need to click 1 by 1 on the link.
That is what I thought the limit of downthemall. However, I spotted a new tiny little feature.
That is fast filtering. The fast filtering accept regular expression. For those who don't know regular expression, here is an explaination.
For those who are lazy to learn regex, I should provide you some the useful regex for downthemall.
/.pdf$/ ---> Select all pdf
/.ppt/ ---> select all ppt and pptx
/.doc/ ---> select all doc and docx
EDIT: My bad my bad. I forget to escape the dot(though it should still work without escape as dot mean anything for that 1 character) It should be
/\.pdf$/ ---> pdf
/\.ppt/ -----> ppt or pptx
/\.doc/ -----> doc or docx
Well, these 3 should be enough for you to download all your massive lecture slide from blackboard at one go. Want learn more? Go read up on more regular expression. It is real power and can turn 20 of codes into 1 line of codes (eg. email validation, nric validation and so on)
And here some goodies. The AFTERMATH.
