FAQ

Myths
1. You need to know programming/photoshop/flash/whatever software in order to join

SPIC is not a software or programming club! We have a whole range of activities and events whereby you do not need to have knowledge of any software to take part in. One example is our upcoming 'Why I love SP' blogging competition. As long as you have a rough concept of blogging, you can join us in the planning and organising of the competition.

2. You have to be an expert at computers in order to join.

As long as you have interest in any aspect of computing(graphic design, new media technologies, open source software, the list goes on), you're very much welcome to our club! If you are lacking in the technical knowledge aspect, we organise frequent talks and workshops where the experts like IBM come in and 'pump up' your knowledge! Also, not forgetting your seniors who would be more than happy to share their expertise with you. Our current members are proficient in many aspects of computing, ranging from graphic design, website creation, open source technologies, programming, you name it! So come on in and join us, we're a friendly bunch! :)

3. You need to take part in all activities after becoming a member.

For participation in activities/events, members choose which they would like to be part of, and attend discussions/workshops relating to those events. You have a choice in what you would like to be part of. We believe in doing things out of interest, as opposed to compulsory participation. :)

Phew, finally the air is cleared. We hope you will enjoy your stay at SP Infocommm Club!
